  • Canada-based UltimateBet. net announced the launch of WWE online qualifiers for the Texas Hold'em poker game where Canadian fans will battle against each other for a trip to WrestleMania XXIV next month in Orlando. The winner will have to win a series of online poker games. Fans can sign up for a free account at UltimateBet. net's online poker room and enter a no-charge qualifier, running daily for residents of Canada, to make their way to the final event. The final will take place on March 2nd and the winner will receive return airfare to Orlando for two, hotel accommodation, $500 in spending money, floor seats for the show, Fan Axxess, Hall of Fame and Brunch tickets, the commemorative chairs and a framed WM XXIV poster. The WrestleMania promotion is only open to residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who are 18 years of age and older. (Thanks to Colin Vassallo)
  • The 4/13 TNA Lockdown PPV will take place at the Paul Tsongas Arena in Lowell, MA. Lockdown is TNA's annual all cage matches PPV.
  • Rey Mysterio will be undergoing surgery for his torn right biceps on Friday. It will be stated on WWE TV Friday night on Smackdown that he will be getting surgery on Saturday since he is appearing on the show. Biceps surgery usually requires around six months of rehab, so it looks like any original plans to have Mysterio tag with Floyd Mayweather Jr. at WrestleMania 24 is now off.
  • As noted earlier, the 6/1 WWE One Night Stand PPV will take place in San Diego, CA.
  • The latest edition of WWE Magazine features an article about what the set for WrestleMania 24 will look like. The article states it will include a lighting rig built from the ground up and a massive tarp in case it rains. The ring will be set up at the 50 yard line, while the one of the end zones will feature what is being described as a "massive pyro setup capable of delivering about 10 times the explosive display seen on RAW". The pyro is expected to shoot higher since the event will be outside.
