Former WCW/TNA Wrestler Retires To Battle Lung Cancer, "The Beautiful People" In Maryland
- "The Beautiful People," Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, will face Jessie Kaye and Niya at Maryland Championship Wrestling event taking place Saturday, Oct. 27 at 2401 North Point Blvd. Dundalk, Maryland. - Lucha wrestler Hector Garza, who formerly competed for World Championship Wrestling and TNA Wresting, is temporarily retiring from the squared circle to battle lung cancer. The 43-year-old was diagnosed last week with the cancer and will have to undergo multiple chemotherapy sessions to attempt to rid himself of the disease.
Garza, a 21-year-veteran, is currently working for Asistencia AsesorÃa y Administración (AAA) and Perros del Mal Producciones, where he is the current Mexican National Heavyweight Champion in his second reign.
- El Generico, who Ring of Honor teased over the weekend would be returning to the promotion as an opponent for Kevin Steen, has not signed a contract. His status with Dragon Gate USA remains unchanged.
