Impact Wrestling Results (2/18): Mixed Tag Main Event, Elgin Vs. Edwards Round 3, TJP In Action

Commentators Don Callis and Josh Mathews welcome us to a brand new episode of Impact! The opening match of the night is announced.

Josh Alexander (w/ Ethan Page) vs. TJP (w/ Fallah Bahh)

TJP from behind locks in a half-Nelson on Alexander. Alexander breaks out of it and puts TJP down with a wrist lock. Both men get back up. TJP is having a hard time taking Alexander down with a shoulder tackle. So, instead, he uses a few aerial moves, which sends Alexander towards the turnbuckle. Alexander gains control again and corners TJP. He lands a big kick. Out of the corner, Alexander is keeping a hold on TJP. TJP rises up to his feet and fights back with a few strikes towards Alexander's ribs. Alexander counters, covers, TJP kicks out. Alexander Irish Whips TJP into the corner. TJP up on the top rope, Alexander grabs him and slams him down on the canvas. Alexander has TJP up on his shoulders. TJP counters with an arm breaker. TJP with a head scissors sends Alexander to the outside. TJP is not done yet. He flies over the top rope, landing on Alexander. Alexander tosses TJP up in the air, covers him, TJP kicks out at 2. The fans are chanting "This is awesome." TJP lands a rana and locks in Alexander's arm. Alexander gets out and slams TJP right on top of his knee. Alexander with another cover, TJP kicks out again. TJP on the second rope suplexes Alexander. Next, he grabs hold of Alexander and puts him in the octopus lock. Alexander grabs the bottom rope and gets the break. TJP rolls Alexander up after Alexander attempts a sleeper hold. TJP grabs the pin and wins!

Winner: TJP

Backstage:Johnny Swinger finds Willie Mack and says that they both need to get their reps up. Mack agrees and thinks they should do that in the ring. Swinger smells some tag team chemistry between the two of them.

Michael Elgin is ready to get that 3-0 in tonight's match against Eddie Edwards. He recounts all of Edwards issues he's had in Impact, including his controversial feuds with both Sami Callihan and Ace Austin. Elgin believes those were once Edwards' nightmares. However, he wants Edwards to view him as his new nightmare now.

Back to the ring, Mack makes his way down to the ring.

Willie Mack vs. Johnny Swinger

Mack sends Swinger into the corner. Swinger and Mack go back-and-forth with side headlocks. Mack breaks it up with a dropkick. Swinger falls on top of Mack. He climbs to the second rope, jumps off, and Mack grabs him by his throat. Mack goes for a ride with a swinging clothesline, followed by a standing moonsault. Mack counters Swinger with a stunner and the six-star frog splash. Mack covers, and wins the match!

Winner: Willie Mack

Back from the break, we see a video recap of Jordynne Grace winning the Knockouts Championship from last week.

In the ring, Madison Rayne believes that Grace cheated her way to win the title last week. She recalls that the first time she won the title, she was quite emotional. But by the fifth time of winning it, she expected that the title was going to be given to her. She is now ready to start the "Madison Rayne Golden Opportunity Open Challenge." She wants any schmuck to come down and face her.

Madison Rayne vs. Mazzerati

Rayne and Mazzerati go at it. Rayne is shocked that this "schmuck" is actually fighting back. Rayne with a Northern Lights suplex, cover, Mazzerati kicks out. Mazzerati sends Rayne into the corner. Rayne Irish Whips her and smashes her down with a cutter. Rayne connects the Cross Rayne, cover, she wins her first open challenge event.

Winner: Madison Rayne

Backstage: Gabby Loren is standing by with Jordynne Grace. Loren wants to know what winning the Knockouts Championship means to Grace. Grace says that she has been wrestling since she was 14-years-old and this is something she has worked so hard for. She promises she'll be a fighting champion and is looking forward to defending it against Havok at Sacrifice this weekend.

John E. Bravo steps in after and announces that he made a video for Taya Valkyrie to celebrate her long-reigning title run. He hopes that she likes it.

It seems that Valkyrie was not too happy with that video.

Next, The Impact Plus Moment of the Week is shown. It's The Pope vs. Mr. Anderson

Backstage: Katie Forbes is not too happy with what people are saying about her online. Rob Van Dam cheers her up. He sees DAGA and Wentz and jokes about how he beat DAGA. DAGA comes up to him and wants to have a match. RVD doesn't want to do it until next week.

Backstage: Loren interviews Tessa Blanchard, Trey, and Tommy Dreamer, who will have a main event match tonight against Ace Austin and Reno Scum. Loren asks them how they're preparing for their match. Dreamer answers by saying that they're going to win clean and fair. Trey wants to take out Austin since he wanted to bang his mom. Blanchard wishes the better man to win, which might just be a woman.

Next, match three of the best of five series!

Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards (Match No. 3 of Best of Five Series)

Edwards flies into Elgin. As both men make their way back into the ring, Edwards lands a tiger driver. Edwards waits for Elgin to get up. Elgin gets up and suplexes Edwards. Elgin sends Edwards down on the apron with a death valley driver. Elgin sends Edwards into the ring and covers him. Edwards kicks out at 2. Elgin lands a hard punch. Edwards with a running boot sends Elgin towards the outside. Edwards flies in between the ropes with a middle rope dive. Elgin drags Edwards up on the apron. As he is about to Elgin Bomb him, Edwards reverses it into a hurricanrana. Back in the ring, Edwards climbs up to the top rope and double stomps the back of Elgin. Edwards covers, Elgin kicks out. Elgin with a buckle bomb sends Edwards towards the turnbuckle. Elgin with another powerful clothesline, cover on Edwards, Edwards kicks out at 2 again. Elgin powerbombs Edwards off the top rope. Edwards rolls Elgin up in a small package, cover, Edwards gets his first win in the series!

Winner: Eddie Edwards

(Edwards is now 1-2, Elgin is 2-1)

After that hard-hitting match, another hard hitter (well, in his mind he thinks so), Moose, makes his way down to the ring. He will join on commentary during this next match.

Dave Crist (w/Jake Crist) vs. Rhino

Dave wastes little time and starts the match off by smacking Rhino. Dave knocks Rhino down to the ground. Rhino gets up and lands multiple strong strikes, followed by a power slam. Jake tries to distract Rhino on the apron. It works in Rhino's favor, as he lands the Gore on Dave. Rhino with the cover wins the match.

Winner: Rhino

Backstage: Havok is looking everywhere for Father James Mitchell. She finds a message that says "Your time has come."

A preview clip is shown that Chris Bey has just signed to Impact and will be joining the roster soon!

As Loren is making an announcement about Sacrifice, an interruption comes through.

And now, the main event!

Ace Austin & Reno Scum vs. Tessa Blanchard, Tommy Dreamer & Trey

Trey and Adam Thornstowe start the match. Both men exchange back-and-forth strikes. Trey tags in Blanchard. Blanchard quick tags Dreamer. Dreamer with an elbow strike tags Trey back in again. Thornstowe tags in Austin. Austin runs back to his corner and tags in Luster "The Legend." Luster steps in. Trey tags in Dreamer. Blanchard, Trey, and Dreamer land triple elbows on Austin and Reno Scum. Their match will continue after the break.

Back from the break, Luster grabs Dreamer and drags him towards his corner. Luster tags in Austin. Austin kicks Dreamer down. Austin tags in Thornstowe. Legend locks Trey up. Trey fights back with a few quick elbows to break out of the hold. Trey tags in Blanchard. Blanchard sends them all down with clotheslines. Blanchard counters Thornstowe with a DDT. Dreamer takes Luster out on the outside with an elbow drop. Austin kicks Blanchard right in the face. Trey then kicks Austin in the face. Trey takes flight and lands on everyone on the outside. Trey sends Austin into the ring. Austin counters Trey's move and lands the Fold. Austin covers Trey and wins the match for his team.
