Impact Wrestling Results: Two Championship Defenses, Ace Austin Vs. Eddie Edwards In A Street Fight

Josh Mathews and Madison Rayne welcome fans to Impact Wrestling! We kick things off with The North defending their Tag Team Championships against their No. 1 contenders, the Rascalz.

The North (c) vs. Rascalz (Dez & Wentz) for the Impact World Tag Team Championships

Ethan Page and Wentz start the match. Wentz dropkicks Page towards The North's corner. Josh Alexander tags himself in. Wentz breaks free from Alexander's hold, then Dez comes in. Dez hooks the leg, Alexander kicks out at 2. Wentz is tagged back in. Wentz flies up and over the top rope, landing right on top of Alexander. Wentz covers, Alexander kicks out again. Alexander chops Wentz across his chest before tagging in Page. Page is in the ring for a mere second – throws down some shots before tagging Alexander back in. Alexander comes in landing another hard chop on Wentz. Wentz connects a springboard knee strike, then heads to his side of the ring to tag in Dez.

Dez sends Alexander back with a thunderous back elbow, then a step-up kick. Dez keeps his offense on point with a rolling attack, until Alexander grabs him and throws him down. Page is back in. Page lands a few hard kicks towards the back of Dez's injured knee. Page tags Alexander back in. Page holds on to Dez, while Alexander lands a few shots. Page is back in. Page lifts Dez in the vertical suplex position and hands Dez off to Alexander. Alexander keeps Dez in the vertical suplex position. Alexander slams Dez onto the mat. Page is back in. Page sends Wentz out of the ring, then connects a backbreaker on Dez. Page keeps his offense in the match with a deadly DDT. Page tags Alexander in before the commercial break.

Back from the break, Page is looking to land a powerbomb on Dez, but he sneaks out from the back. Dez somersaults over to his corner to tag in Wentz. Wentz catches Page with a kick towards his chest and a standing moonsault. Wentz hooks the leg, Page kicks out at 2. Page gets back in the game with a strong forearm shot. Dez is back in. Wentz goes flying out of the ring towards Alexander. Dez goes for a pin, Page kicks out. Page connects a strong superkick. Dez spins free from Page. Both men tag in their partners. Wentz destroys Alexander with an inside out flip. Wentz covers, Page breaks the count. Dez flies out of the ring but gets caught by Page, who pushes him up towards the apron. Page grabs Dez and throws him over the barricade. Wentz flies out of the ring on Page. The North slides back into the ring to connect The Northern Assault on Wentz to retain their championships. The North wins.

Winners and Still Tag Team Champions: The North

Backstage: The North is furious that no one was watching their match backstage.

Mathews and Rayne run through tonight's lineup. Mathews receives a message that some chaos has unfolded backstage. As the cameras start to roll in the back, we see Trey is laid out once again. The Rascalz begin their search on who attacked Trey for the second time.

Backstage: Jimmy Jacobs wants to get a quick comment from Ace Austin. Austin doesn't want to be interviewed, especially if it has to do with who attacked Trey. Eddie Edwards runs in with a security guard holding him back. Edwards knows that Austin is the assailant who attacked Trey. Those two will fight later on tonight.

After all the commotion backstage, we head back to the ring for a Knockouts match!

Kimber Lee vs. Nevaeh (w/Havok)

Both women lockup. After their lockup, Kimber Lee takes a swing towards Nevaeh. Both women trade forearm shots. Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan make their way out into the audience with some popcorn, drinks and posters. Back in the ring, Lee has Nevaeh locked up in a leg submission. Lee breaks the hold and sends Nevaeh towards the corner. Nevaeh side steps and pushes Lee into the corner. Nevaeh lands a shot or two before Lee puts Nevaeh in a leg chokehold.

Lee keeps her offense up with a bodyslam, then a cover. Nevaeh kicks out at 2. Nevaeh sends Lee down on the mat with a strong clothesline. Nevaeh connects a German Suplex on Lee, then hooks the leg. Lee kicks out. Lee sends Nevaeh off her rocker with a step-up enziguri. Nevaeh catches Lee with a powerful DDT. Nevaeh goes for the cover, and wins her first match on Impact!

Winner: Nevaeh

Post-Match: Havok walks on over towards Steelz and Hogan. Nevaeh holds Havok back. Hogan and Steelz throw their popcorn on Havok and run away as fast as they can.

Backstage: The North runs into a few guys who are watching some old Ken Shamrock footage. The North is mad that those guys weren't watching their match from earlier.

After the break, Rohit Raju will square off with TNA/Impact legend, Rhino!

Before Raju's match, we see a video package of Jacob Crist's debut from last week. Joseph P. Ryan says that himself, RVD, and Crist will face Crazzy Steve next week.

Crazzy Steve is sick and tired of hearing the word, "No," especially from Cancel Culture. He is looking forward to his match with them next week.

We head back to the ring for Raju and Rhino's match!

Rohit Raju vs. Rhino

Rohit Raju doesn't let Rhino make his way down the ramp before attacking him from behind. As both men enter the ring, Raju yells out to the referee to start the match. Bell rings, Raju and Rhino are on the outside. Raju smashes Rhino's face into the apron several times. Rhino fires back with a few shots to the midsection. Rhino has Raju up. Raju sneaks out from the back and sends Rhino into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Rhino sends Raju towards the ropes. Raju sends Rhino down with a clothesline. Raju locks in a side headlock. Rhino rises to his feet and breaks the hold with an elbow shot. Raju gets caught with a powerful clothesline, followed by a back elbow from Rhino. Raju climbs to the top rope, Rhino moves out of the way and connects a GORE on the flyin Raju. Rhino wins the match.

Winner: Rhino

Up next, the Impact Plus Moment of the Week is shown. It's EC3 vs. Kurt Angle for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from 2015.

Following the Impact Plus Moment, we see that Michael Elgin is on the phone with someone. Jacobs catches up with Elgin to see if he was the one who attacked Trey. Elgin denies that he had anything to do with it.

Back from the break, Moose will put his TNA World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Hernandez. That match is next!

Before their match, Susie is questioning whether or not she should be good anymore. Kylie Rae says that she likes Susie, and wants her to continue to be a good person. As they're talking, Taya Valkyrie butts in. Valkyrie wants Rae to cut the "Mister Rogers" crap. She encourages Susie to be bad. After saying all of that, Valkyrie changes her statement by saying that both of them are annoying, and they both need makeovers. Susie tries to go after Valkyrie, but Rae stops her.

And now, we head back to the ring to see Moose defend his Championship.

Moose (c) vs. Hernandez for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

Moose tries to get the lead with a shot towards Hernandez. Hernadez side steps, and sends Moose up and over the top rope with a clothesline. Hernandez sends Moose shoulder first into the ring post. Both men are back in the ring. Moose sends Hernandez face-first into the bottom turnbuckle. Moose keeps Hernandez down with a few kicks and a back elbow. Moose Irish whips Hernandez towards the corner then dropkicks him off the apron.

Hernandez rolls back in. Moose cheapshots Hernandez by pushing his fingers into Hernandez's eyes. Hernandez has had enough. He slams Moose down on the mat with a bodyslam. Hernandez lands on top of Moose with a SuperMex. Hernandez fools the commentators by changing the Border Toss position to a hard-hitting backbreaker on Moose. Hernadez covers, Moose pops out at 2. Hernandez has Moose up, Moose slips out from the back, puts his boot up, which hits Hernandez's private parts. Moose connects the No Jackhammer Needed and retains his Championship.

Winner and Still TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Moose

Post-Match: EC3's former theme music starts to play. Moose is confused and asks the referee what's going on. The referee has no clue.

Backstage: The Rascalz confront Reno Scum to see if they were the ones who attacked Trey. Reno Scum says they should go ask Fallah Bahh and TJP because they heard that those two were mad that they lost to the Rascalz last week. The Rascalz go looking for Bahh and TJP.

Outside: The Deaners are so happy to be back together again. Willie Mack is hanging out with them too. They each go back and forth exchanging jokes about Chris Bey and Johnny Swinger. Mack breaks out his best "Stone Cold" Steve Austin impression!

Speaking of Reno Scum, they head down to the ring for their tag team match against XXXL.

Reno Scum vs. XXXL (Larry D & Acey Romero)

Acey Romero and Adam Thornstowe begin the matchup. Romero picks Thornstowe up and carries him over towards his corner to tag in Larry D. Luster The Legend makes his way into the ring to take out XXXL. Each man goes back to their corners. Thornstowe locks Larry D up before tagging Luster in. Luster lands a few shots before tagging Thornstowe in again. Thornstowe connects a standing moonsault. Thornstowe gets caught off the middle rope. Larry D bodyslams Thornstowe, then crawls over to tag in Romero. Luster and Romero are now the legal men. Romero sends Thornstowe to the outside. Romero connects a sidewalk slam. He covers Luster, who pops out at 2. XXXL smash Thornstowe in two. Larry D knocks Luster off his feet with a big clothesline. Luster takes a breather before slamming Larry D with a spinebuster. Thornstowe comes flying off the top rope, and connects a pin on Larry D. Luster takes care of Romero on the outside. Reno Scum picks up the win.

Backstage: Chris Bey and Johnny Swinger have a little discussion about The Deaners and Willie Mack, and how they're going to take care of them. Swinger says he knows a guy who would be willing to help, so he calls him. After finding out this his friend can't work in the next 90 days, Swinger says he knows someone else who can handle the job.

After the break, we see an exclusive vignette about Deonna Purrazzo, and what inspired her to return to Impact.

Backstage: Gia Miller asks Jordynne Grace her thoughts about Purrazzo and the piece that was just shown about her. Grace says that all Purrazzo had to do was ask for a title shot, and she'd give her one. She didn't have to come into the ring and do what she did last week to prove she's worthy of an opportunity. As she says this, Purrazzo comes up from behind and puts Grace in a Fujiwara armbar.

And now, the main event!

Ace Austin vs. Eddie Edwards (In A Street Fight Match)

Eddie Edwards runs down the ramp and attacks Ace Austin from behind. Edwards leaves briefly and comes back with a trash can full of goods. Austin kicks the trash can away from him. Austin climbs up on the apron. Edwards throws the trash can towards Austin. Austin finds a stick and hits Edwards with it.

Back from the break, Austin goes for a cover, after kicking Edwards in the corner. Edwards kicks out at 2. Austin connects two strong chops. Edwards gets up and sends Austin off with a chop of his own. Austin recovers then sends Edwards off his feet again with a powerslam. Austin rolls out to grabs two cookie sheets. He takes the cookie sheets and hits Edwards in the head with them. Edwards grabs the sheets and swings wildly towards Austin's face. Austin, who is out of the ring, throws a trash can lid towards Edwards, knocking him out before he attempted a dive towards the outside. Austin grabs part of a guardrail and sets it alongside the ring. Edwards stops himself before landing on top of the guardrail. Edwards reverses Austin's counter with a belly-to-belly suplex. Austin crashes right on top of the guardrail.

Edwards sends Austin into the ring and hits Austin with a street sign. Edwards lands a Blue Thunder Bomb, then hooks the leg on Austin. Austin kicks out. Austin catches Edwards with a boot. Austin brings a table into the ring and sets it up. Austin has Edwards right where he wants him. Austin swings the same street sign towards Edwards' skull. Edwards climbs up and meets Austin. Austin swipes his playing card right across Edwards' face. Austin flies off the top rope with a crossbody. Still, not enough, Austin connects a spinning kick. Austin pins, Edwards kicks out.

Edwards recharges enough to connect a Tiger Driver. Edwards goes for another pin, Austin kicks out. Edwards finds Kenny (the kendo stick). Austin trips Edwards. Edwards lands right on the chair face- first. Edwards smashes Austin into the table with a neckbreaker. As Edwards is yelling for Austin to get up, Madman Fulton sneaks quietly up on the apron and sends Edwards down and out with not one, but two chokeslams. Austin ends the match with The Fold and wins the match.

Winner: Ace Austin

Before the show concludes, we see a new Slammiversary advertisement. This teaser announces that a former World Champion will return on July 18!
